Whakapiki Ake (WAP) is a Māori recruitment project that operates within a kaupapa Māori framework across the recruitment pipeline (Year 9 to first-year tertiary study). WAP actively engages with rangatahi and whānau in schools and community environments.
WAP supports rangatahi towards a career in health and their academic pathways from secondary school into the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences programmes at the University of Auckland.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an energetic, highly self-motivated and committed individual to assist with the coordination, planning and implementation of Whakapiki Ake recruitment activities.
You will be joining a fast-paced environment, where you will need be confident learning on the job!
This position provides a stimulating tertiary environment that demands critical thinking, a practical and systematic approach and attention to detail. This is a great opportunity to contribute and support Māori participation and success in tertiary health education.
Please note that this role requires flexibility to work outside normal working hours and weekends when required, and to travel out of the Auckland region on occasion. You will also need a full and clean driver’s license.
Professional Staff Level 4.
