LENScience Web Administration and Content Writer
Full-Time (Part-Time may be considered, Fixed Term 01-April to 13-December 2019
The Liggins Institute at the University of Auckland seeks to appoint a web administration and content writer to work within the LENScience research group. This fixed-term Professional Staff position from April to December 2019 is anticipated to be full-time. However, a part-time role of at least 0.7 FTE would be considered for the right candidate.
The Liggins Education Network for Science (LENScience) is a knowledge translation research group that facilitates school-science partnerships. Based on evidence of the potential of adolescence as a window of opportunity for promotion of health, the primary goal of LENScience is to facilitate partnerships that support improved health and education outcomes for adolescents and their future offspring.
The new position of LENScience Web Administration and Content Writer will provide web administration and content writing services that support the goals of the Liggins Education Network for Science (LENScience) in facilitating science communication and knowledge translation via partnerships with the education sector and the community.
The LENScience website is being updated in 2019, and the new online courses are being developed. The updated sites and new courses will provide a repository of resources and support for teachers across New Zealand and the Pacific who are partnering with the Liggins Institute to enable teenagers to explore and act upon scientific evidence. The courses use a range of resources including videos, webinars, blogs and online discussions.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have experience in web content writing, basic video editing and the use of learning management systems (we use Ruzuku). They will be a team player who is keen to bring their expertise as a communicator into an education and research environment. They will appreciate that online resources for education are not the same as those designed for comms and marketing and will work with our team and our stakeholders to appreciate and understand their needs. Candidates will demonstrate an appreciation of the culture of the University and will be willing to learn about the research that underpins the work of LENScience. The LENScience group works across a range of communities. Candidates should bring experiences and competencies that can contribute to the promotion of inclusion, equity, and diversity.
