The School of Biological Sciences at The University of Auckland is seeking a highly motivated and capable Technologist to provide technical and knowledgeable support for Auckland Cytometry, the state of the art flow cytometry core facility. This will be a full-time, 12 months contract.
As a Technologist, you will use your technical expertise in flow cytometry to undertake procedures supporting immunology and cell biology in the Auckland Cytometry unit. . You will also be advising users on best practice methods and provide training on a range of equipment. So your ability to communicate technical information and work with a range of stakeholders is crucial.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A Biochemistry or Molecular Biology background, with a minimum of a postgraduate degree in a related field
- Experience in flow cytometry and knowledge of the best practice methods
- The ability to prioritise work demands, organise schedules, and recognize the needs of research-based customers are essential requirements for this position
- Experience with Containment and Health and Safety is highly preferred
