Interested?

As our Technician – General Science, you’ll oversee and provide technical assistance and support to our academic staff and students in the Health and Community network. You’ll be working between our Waitakere and Mt Albert campus, to help prepare and set up laboratory classes.

You’re responsible for training staff and students on how to use laboratory equipment, whilst upholding Health and Safety guidelines. You’ll be purchasing laboratory equipment and ensuring all equipment is kept in excellent condition.

Daily, you’ll be engaging in sample collection and actively participating in research.

Your experience

As a Technician, you are a strong communicator with impeccable time management skills. Ideally, you are already working in the tertiary sector supporting laboratory classes. A Bachelor in Science is essential with your major in a similar field, such as chemistry or biology

We are looking for you to be research active and have experience with HSNO Exempt Laboratory.

As your start and finish times may vary week to week, you’ll be flexible and adaptable to work within a set roster.

To be successful in this role you must have a New Zealand clean, full driver’s licence.
