At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga – Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

We shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary.

Mō tēnei tūranga – About this role

In this role you get to use your excellent organising skills, energy and can-do approach to provide support across the People Capability group. This will include assisting Managers with needs around diaries, meetings, events and other administrative or coordination work needed. You will also develop knowledge of the Ministry’s administrative and support processes and be the go-to person on these. The role includes coordinating some aspects of the financial processes such as raising purchase orders, paying invoices and working with the Programme Manager to track spend across the group.

This is a new role and is a great opportunity to stamp your own mark and make the role your own. You will get to work in a collaborative team environment where we respect each other and value diversity.

Mōhou ake – About you

We are looking for someone who has a solution-orientated approach and willingness to get stuck in. You will want to make things work seamlessly and where they don’t you will find ways to make things work better. You will see issues or problems before they arise and act quickly to smooth the way. Experience in administrative processes will be useful, including in basic financial processing but a willingness to learn and an aptitude for being organised is most important. You will have a can-do approach and be willing to help out with many things big and small.
