Casual (as and when required)

  • Assist in the delivery of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori initiatives both within scheduled programme delivery and with strategic partners
  • Collaborate with Mana Whenua in the delivery of tikanga Māori to ensure appropriate local perspective is incorporated

The role

We are seeking a passionate advocate of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori who is committed to broadening engagement with and understanding of Te Reo and tikanga within their wider community. Mehemea he ngākau nuj koe ki tō tātou reo, ki ā tātou tikanga, ā, e waweruka ana koe ki te whāngai i ēnei korero, ki te tuitui i ēnei āhua o tātou ki roto tonu i tō tātou hapori whānui, whakapā mai kia hoe tahi tātou i tēnei waka wawata ki uta, ki tana whakatinanatanga.

Ara is currently extending our offerings in Te Reo provision through our revised portfolio, we are also expanding our support to workplaces looking to increase their cultural capability and improve their engagement with Māori stakeholders, customers and partners. The role will include programme delivery, collaboration with iwi partners, providing information relating to student needs and support and providing input into ongoing programme design.

Skills/experience

  • Proficiency in Te Reo and Tikanga Māori
  • Experience in language and cultural capability development type delivery
  • Experience in training or in a tertiary educational provider
  • Dynamic and innovative teaching methods of language delivery
