Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa is the Post Settlement Governance Entity for more than 14,000 members who affiliate to one of 23 marae within the rohe o Te Rarawa. The rohe extends from Hukatere in the north to Hokianga in the south, returning north to Kaitaia. Te Rūnanga is a sound and established Mandated Iwi Organisation with a $90m+ asset base.
Te Rūnanga represents the iwi on issues ranging from fisheries and conservation to commercial development. The vision for Te Rūnanga is to realise the potential of forthcoming generations embracing a ‘4 POU’ (cultural, social, environmental, economic) approach to all its activities.
Te Rūnanga is committed to strengthening the broader capability and connectivity of Te Rarawa whanau, and hapū marae.
To this end, Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa wish to engage a new CEO and welcome a leader who demonstrates strong commitment to leading and safeguarding the future for our whānau, hapū and iwi.
The CEO needs to be a visionary leader – strong in their identity, capable, culturally astute and able to align to the values, principles and practices of Te Rarawa. You will lead and manage the Office of the Rūnanga which operates a shared services model for delivering corporate support to Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa Group.
The Rūnanga Group encompasses two subsidiaries, Te Rarawa Anga Mua and Te Waka Pupuri Pūtea, to deliver on the Rūnanga strategic plan. This complex role requires exceptional interpersonal qualities to build and maintain effective, long term relationships with multiple stakeholders.
