Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The operations team within Student & Academic Services is looking for a Student Systems Analyst to join them. The role of a Systems Analyst is to support a seamless admission and enrolment experience for students through accurate review, updating and maintenance of complex programme, campus, term and admission set up in the University’s student management system.

As the Student Systems Analyst you will support applicant and student systems, reporting and processes for the effective delivery and oversight of application and admission activity across the institution. This position links directly to student recruitment, through optimising  and streamlining the application process they experience.

Qualifications

You will understand the complex nature of the tertiary environment and systems related to this industry. An expert in systems configuration and process, you will use your knowledge to directly enhance the student experience through their online interactions with the university through enrolment and application processes.

You’ll be looking to have your analytical skills refined and challenged as you encounter complex issues and have time to carefully consider future possible solutions for your customers. A continuous improvement mindset will have you working both reactively and proactively as you seek to explore new options in a constantly evolving online landscape.

Building and maintaining relationships will come easily to you as you work with a range of stakeholders and collaborate with others inside and outside of your team. You will work well autonomously, take initiative and love to problem solve.

To succeed in the role you will:

  • Understand complex systems and processes and identify improvements
  • Be confident in picking up a range of IT systems quickly, holding expert knowledge of Student Services Online or similar
  • Be Advanced in Excel and Microsoft Suite
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills through relationship management, advocacy and negotiation with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Have excellent communication skills across all platforms, including face-face
