Academic Services within the University of Auckland is currently seeking an enthusiastic, committed and flexible individual to join our dedicated Student Contact and Support team. In this role, you will be part of a team who genuinely enjoy working with each other and values the contribution we all make in trying to delight our customers. Unlike some contact-centre based positions, we cover a broad range of queries from prospective students through to alumni, which ensures your day is varied and allows for inbound, outbound and face to face interactions.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for candidates who understand that customer service is not a department, it is an attitude. This means you can demonstrate strong communication, problem solving and customer service skills, along with the ability to interact with people from various backgrounds. Your passion for great customer service is demonstrated in the pride you take in your work (by being logged in, ready to take inquiries at your rostered start time), and your ability to exercise good judgement when it comes to decision-making and the escalation of queries.
To be successful in this role, you will enjoy a fast paced working environment and a positive, supportive team atmosphere. You will be able to adapt during peak periods – particularly over the summer months. As we are a large and complex organisation, relevant experience in the Tertiary Sector will be considered favourably or experience in a similarly complex environment. Call centre and/or CRM experience would be highly advantageous.
Flexibility is essential as this position is roster based; business hours may be extended from Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturdays 9am to 5pm during peak periods.
Our standard business hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm. Start times may vary to accommodate the business hours for Student Contact and Support.
