Fixed-term Student Services Advisor
Customer Service Representative
Full-time, Fixed-term for 12 months
As we move into our peak period, we are looking for exceptional customer service representatives to help us as Student Support Advisors with a high volume of enquiries from June/July 2019 until the end of March 2020.
About the role
The role of Student Support Advisor within the Student Contact and Support Centre at The University of Auckland is a pivotal position that will give you a unique opportunity to be of service to our most important customers: our current and future students.
We pride ourselves on providing an excellent and consistent level of service to students. We cover a broad range of queries which ensures your day is varied and allows for inbound and outbound interactions through email, phone calls, and other channels.
This position is rostered. Our standard business hours are between 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, however there may be some Saturdays and Public Holidays included in your roster. We work 7,5 hours a day and start times will vary to accommodate operational demands. Business hours may be extended to Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm if required. Long periods of leave might not be approved from 1 Dec to 31 march due to increase in call volume.
Who are we looking for?
In short, we are looking for candidates who understand that excellent customer service is not a department, but an attitude. This means you must be able to demonstrate strong communication, problem solving and computer skills.
Your passion for great customer service is further demonstrated through excellent listening skills as well as an eye for detail. You take pride in your work and combine this with a healthy sense of humour and self-awareness. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will engage you in this varied role.
Relevant experience in the tertiary sector will be considered an asset, however not essential.
This role will see you work in a professional and friendly environment with a team that enjoys working with each other and values the contribution we all make in trying to exceed our customers’ expectations.
