We are seeking an enthusiastic, student focused person to join the team as a Student Advocacy Officer. The successful candidate will be confident, sensitive to others with energy and drive to embrace student life, involve themselves, initiate events and advocate on behalf of our students.  To support you in this role you will lead and work with the Student Voice Coordinator, Student Events and Communications Coordinator and other casual team members, therefore an inclusive hands-on leadership style will be desired.    

Some of the responsibilities you will enjoy are:

  • working closely  with our  Student Advisors,  Heads  of Practice and Campus General Managers your mandate will be advocating and enhancing the student experience  at MIT
  • handling the complaint and appeal process you will attend meetings and review processes, policies  and systems pertinent to MIT students
  • overseeing and planning regular student engagement activates and events across our campuses including Orientation and the Student Voice events
  • ensuring policies and processes are conducive to our students wellbeing, meet their needs and  support their success as learners

To be successful in this key role the ideal applicant will bring a minimum of three years’ experience in policy development with exceptional facilitation skills, event and project coordination.  Having a Bachelor of Law or equivalent would be desirable.
