Creative Arts and Industries (CAI) is a small diverse faculty at the University of Auckland. CAI offers undergraduate and postgraduate study of a wide range of creative disciplines within the Schools of Architecture and Planning, Fine Arts (Elam), Music and the Dance Studies Programme. In all areas, the emphasis is on creative exploration and discovery and on interdisciplinary collaboration across the faculty. In 2020, a new Design Programme will also be launched within the faculty
We are recruiting for a Student Academic Adviser within the Student Centre. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. The role will focus on developing a recruitment strategy for the faculty across all its programmes, with a particular focus on the new Design Programme. The person will work with a range of people within the university and with schools across the country, to develop a recruitment strategy that meets the objectives of the faculty and providing the most relevant information to students at secondary schools to enable them to make informed decisions about future study.
The Student Centre Team are dedicated to supporting our students. We are looking for a person who will adapt easily into the team structure, can work effectively with a wide range of people (colleagues, other members of the University staff, students and Academics). They must be able to demonstrate their ability to work in a busy environment, where priorities can change on a regular basis and be a confident presenter. The successful candidate may be required to travel to schools around New Zealand. Ideally, we would prefer candidates who have worked in a secondary school environment or have experience interacting with schools. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
