Stores Technician

AUT requires a new team member for the Stores Department at the School of Hospitality & Tourism.

Key responsibilities are to prepare and deliver ingredient trolleys to the training kitchens, to maintain freezers, chillers and the dry store; receipt of inwards goods, maintenance of food safety records and associated food handling, clerical and cleaning duties.

The successful applicant must be reliable, honest, clean and tidy in their personal presentation and habits. Previous kitchen experience, and knowledge of diverse food items and food hygiene practices would be an advantage.

A person who has a positive work attitude, is flexible in their approach, is well organised and most importantly has a genuine desire to deliver a high quality service would be most suited to this position. This position requires stamina and physical strength; it involves long periods of standing and some heavy lifting (crates, cartons, equipment etc).

The position is part-time, being 75 hours/fortnight for the 36 weeks of the academic year (Late Feb to Mid November), plus annual leave. The hours are rostered, sharing 2 shifts between 7.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
