Techtorium NZIIT (New Zealand Institute of Information Technology) is a vocational college aimed at preparing school leavers for a career in the computer industry and is the preferred destination for students to enrol in the full-time, level 5 programmes, and then progress to level 6 and further to level 7.
As the Software Development Trainer, you will be tasked with the preparation and delivery of teaching curriculum for various courses, ensuring delivery of curriculum is in line with a modern learning environment. Managing course development, existing course revisions; material resources assessment and development, you will perform unit standard assessment moderation activities to meet quality expectations.
Meeting the needs of students and stakeholders your professionalism and expertise in your field, combined with your empathic nature will see you as approachable and accessible to all. You will have previously have worked as a trainer/teacher and with at least 2-3 years academic experience have a sound knowledge of academic administration process.
With an excellent command over programming languages platforms and technologies including;
- Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
- Software algorithm design, performance tuning, debugging, testing.
- Agile and DevOps.
Project management experience is highly desirable.
Able to perform Unit Standard assessment moderation activities across your student base, you’ll know all students by name, understand how they best learn and provide a supportive environment in which to teach and motivate.
Ensuring resources are maintained at a satisfactory level for student learning, you will conduct regular student evaluations with students individually to identify areas for students to focus on.
Your ability to influence and motivate potential students, who choose to study ICT, will be the ultimate measure of your success in this position. You will need to have NZ residency to apply for this position, It is also essential that you hold a full, clean drivers licence and you will be required to undertake a MOJ check.
