Job Description

Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences

Epidemiology and Biostatistics, within the School of Population Health at the University of Auckland’s Tāmaki Campus, is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Lecturer to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and service within the department and the School.

Duties will include:

  • High quality teaching in areas of population health relevant to the section
  • Contribution to teaching improvements science relate to health care
  • Supervision of student research projects (Honours, Masters and PhD students)
  • Developing and undertaking a high quality research programme
  • Publishing articles in high impact journals
  • Seeking and securing funding from competitive research grants and other external sources.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A PhD in a relevant field
  • Demonstrable experience within the health sector
  • High-level knowledge of statistical analysis packages
  • A track record of collaborative, high-quality research relevant to Population Health, and quality and safety in health care
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate and post graduate students
  • Experience with the management and analysis of large data sets.

This is a permanent opportunity, available on a part time basis at 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week).
