Opportunity for Principal and Senior Policy Analysts in the Public Health System Policy Group

The Public Health System Policy Group works on a range of cross-cutting health issues, including those with regulatory functions. You will work with other agencies and the health and disability sector to provide advice on improving outcomes for all New Zealanders.
You’ll bring a thorough understanding of public policy issues including Te Tiriti and equity requirements and have demonstrated success in developing fit for purpose policy advice in a dynamic environment.
As a highly collaborative policy professional who can see the benefits of strong policy advice using data analysis and research to evidence advice, you bring with you a strong ability to take complex information and make it relevant across a range of audiences.
Your written policy advice is able to be understood by a variety of stakeholders, breaking complex problems into achievable equitable solutions.
As a Principal or Senior Analyst, you will be comfortable sharing your knowledge and mentoring analysts to grow their policy skills. You are open to learning from others, seeking opportunities through your work to further grow both your written and analytical skillsets.
At times you will be part of virtual teams across the Ministry and sector, including policy, operational and clinical stakeholders. You’ll understand the machinery of government and know how to collaborate to get things done.
You do not have to have a health background. It is your ability to provide great policy advice that will see you succeed in this role.
