Fixed-term Research Technician

The Department of Molecular Medicine & Pathology seeks to appoint a Research Technician to work as part of a team investigating the genomic and molecular characteristics of cancer.
The primary role of the position will be undertaking lab-based experiments involving DNA and RNA extraction and analysis. Excellent attention to detail, coupled with good computer and documentation skills, are required to record experimental details and results on a daily basis.
You will be responsible for meeting project goals as agreed with the project PrincipaI Investigator, as part of a broad collaborative research team including clinicians, biologists, statisticians and clinical register experts.
Applicants should have a Bachelors or Masters Science degree, and experience in laboratory molecular research techniques.
The Principal Investigator is Professor Cristin Print, and the project is based at laboratories within the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, University of Auckland.
The position can be either full or part time (minimum 0.5 FTE), and is a 12 month fixed-term contract to start as soon as possible.
