Te Tari Rautaki Rangahau, Matatika | Office of Research Strategy & Integrity (ORSI) is seeking a Research Manager to support the achievement of the University’s strategic research priorities to deepen and strengthen relationships with Māori communities; grow Māori and Pacific scholarship in areas of transdisciplinary priority; and to provide outstanding researcher training and capability building in areas such as Vision Mātauranga.
You will work in partnership with the University’s Kaiarataki and other key stakeholders to develop and embed Mātauranga Maori and responsiveness to Māori.
A key part of your role will be to support major research initiatives aligned with the University’s strategic research priorities.
This role is Full Time 37.5 hours per week, fixed term for 29 months. The salary range is $89,400 – $98,000.

About you | He kōrero mōu
You will need to have excellent relationship building skills, astute communication to enable our research community to better reflect and respond to the aspirations, contributions, or needs of Māori.
It is preferred that you come with an understanding of the NZ research funding landscape and experience working with Māori stakeholders – iwi, enterprises and community groups.

- A good understanding of tikanga Māori
- Flexible approach to working with different groups and individuals to achieve a goal
- Self-Motivator with strong organisational and project management skills

Te Tari Rautaki Rangahau, Matatika | Office of Research Strategy & Integrity (ORSI) established in 2018 to support the work of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and the University’s Research Committee in:
- supporting the achievement of the University’s strategic research priorities
- developing and implementing strategies and policies to maintain and increase the University’s research funding;
- facilitating a vibrant, productive and ethical research environment;
- shaping the University’s response to a changing research landscape; and enhancing Auckland’s standing as a research-intensive, world-leading institution.
