Full-time (part-time may be considered) , Fixed Term 01-April to 13-December 2019

 

The Liggins Institute at the University of Auckland seeks to appoint a research and education writer to work within the LENScience research group. This fixed-term position from April to December 2019 is anticipated to be full-time. However, a part-time role of at least 0.7 FTE would be considered for the right candidate.

About LENScience

The Liggins Education Network for Science (LENScience) is a knowledge translation research group that facilitates school-science partnerships. Based on evidence of the potential of adolescence as a window of opportunity for promotion of health, the primary goal of LENScience is to facilitate partnerships that support improved health and education outcomes for adolescents and their future offspring.

The opportunity

The new position of Science and Education Writer will contribute to the writing of education resources, academic papers and project reports relating to knowledge translation and implementation science associated with the promotion of science and health literacy through school-based intervention programmes.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have experience in education resource and academic writing. They will be able to adapt writing to suit a variety of audiences including adolescents, teachers and academics (education and health sciences). The LENScience group works across a range of communities. Candidates should bring experiences and competencies that can contribute to the promotion of inclusion, equity, and diversity.
