The Liggins Institute at the University of Auckland seeks to appoint a research assistant to work within the LENScience group. This fixed-term Professional Staff position from April to December 2019 is anticipated to be full-time. However, a part-time role of at least 0.7 FTE would be considered for the right candidate.
The Liggins Education Network for Science (LENScience) is a knowledge translation research group that facilitates multi-sectoral collaborations across science and education. Based on evidence of the potential of adolescence as a window of opportunity for promotion of health, the primary goal of LENScience is to enable partnerships that support improved health and education outcomes for adolescents and their future offspring.
The position of Research Assistant will provide technical and administrative support to enable the LENScience group to meet research aims relating to knowledge translation and implementation science associated with the promotion of science and health literacy through school-based intervention programmes. The Research Assistant will participate in the collection, processing and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, and will provide administration services in support of research within the LENScience group.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Sciences or Social Sciences
- Experience in the processing and analysis of qualitative and quantitative research data
- Experience in administration tasks associated with conducting mixed-methods research
- An interest in knowledge translation research associated with adolescent health and education
- A positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to the goals of the LENScience research group
