Full-Time Registered Nurse with Mental Health Experience

Ngaakau Tapatahi Trust provides corporate support including Human Resource management to Hauora Waikato and Ngaa Ringa Awhina. We are currently recruiting on behalf for the role of:
EXPERIENCED MENTAL HEALTH REGISTERED NURSE
This role will work across the kaupapa fitting in wherever whaanau need is. It may be providing services in the community through Hauora Waikato or completing needs assessment with Ngaa Ringa Awhina. Some of the key responsibilities are to fulfil generic and discipline-specific specialist mental health assessment and treatment in relation to the well-being of whaanau with an identified psychiatric illness.
The role will suit someone with a professional approach, who enjoys working collaboratively with others to ensure the best possible support is provided for whaanau. Other characteristics of a successful applicant would be high personal and professional standards in accordance with professional best practice, and confident communication together with accurate clinical records.
We are a kaupapa Maori service who believes that having a diverse work force allows us to support individuals and their families/whanau. The ability to speak Te Reo is not a prerequisite and you may not have experience in a kaupapa Maori environment but if you have a desire to understand and support Tikanga Maori this may offer you an opportunity to grow within a kaupapa Maori environment.

- Registered with NZ Nursing Council
- Current Annual Practising Certificate
- Experienced Nurse Positions must have at least 2+ years post-registration experience in mental health – assessment and treatment.
Those employed by Ngaakau Tapatahi:
- Must comply with the requirements of the Vulnerable Children’s Act 2014 in full
- Have a clean Police Vetting record, this will include any charges under the * Criminal records (Clean Slate ) Act 2004
- Hold a current, clean full New Zealand Driver’s License, as driving is a requirement of this position.
