Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences

The Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences is seeking to appoint a 0.4FTE Professional Teaching Fellow in Health Psychology, to provide maternity leave cover from November 2018 until August 2019.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology to coordinate and administer teaching, assessments, clinical placements, and supervision of pre-intern and intern psychologists.

This part-time academic position will ideally be filled by someone who works clinically as a Health Psychologist and will be a great opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic psychologist who wants to combine clinical work with an academic appointment.

This role is particularly suitable for an experienced Health Psychologist who has skills in working clinically, teaching at a postgraduate level, and is well connected to health psychology networks.

Who are we looking for?

  • The successful applicant will be expected to take a lead role in the health psychology teaching programme.
  • This position will suit a psychologist who work works well in team situations, and who has experience in clinical research.
  • Candidates must hold a psychology qualification registrable in New Zealand and must have a higher qualification in health psychology equivalent to the Postgraduate Diploma in Health Psychology.
  • Candidates must have experience in teaching, and ideally hold a PhD in Health Psychology or equivalent.
