Professional Teaching Fellow – Computer Systems

The School of Computer Science at the University of Auckland is currently looking for an early career academic to join our diverse and internationally renowned school as a Professional Teaching Fellow. If you are passionate about teaching and want to build lasting collaborations, and value diversity, we encourage you to apply.

The appointee will be in charge of coordinating and teaching courses in the undergraduate programme and teaching into the undergraduate programme. Experience with students and lecturing is essential. Our preference will be for applicants with expertise in the Systems area of Computer Science, such as computer architecture, networks, cyber security, operating systems, parallel and distributed computing and cloud computing.

Our Ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Computer Science and a passion for Computer Systems
  • A commitment to high quality research-informed teaching of undergraduate students
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to motivate, enthuse and inspire students

The School of Computer Science is the country’s largest, most diverse, and most accomplished. The school was founded in 1981. It now has more than 54 academic staff and 60 PhD students, and an ever-growing cohort of undergraduates.
