Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Department of Engineering Science is now seeking an experienced Professional Teaching Fellow to teach into our Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree programmes.

A major responsibility will be the delivery of large (approx. 1000 students) first-year Engineering courses, for example ENGGEN 131 (Introduction to engineering computation and software development). Other responsibilities include teaching BE(Hons) degree courses in the Engineering Science and Biomedical Engineering programmes, primarily in the areas of mathematical modelling and computational techniques.

Ideal candidates will possess or demonstrate:

  • A Master’s Degree, or above, in Engineering Science, Mathematical Modelling, or a related discipline
  • Experience teaching large groups, ideally at undergraduate level, and experience using a range of teaching techniques and technologies
  • A commitment to student success and a drive to deliver a high quality learning experience
  • A collaborative approach, coupled with strong communication skills
  • A commitment to supporting a safe and inclusive environment for all staff and students
