Job Description

Media Productions is a bunch of passionate video makers and photographers who produce digital content for the University and beyond. We thrive on creativity and finding new ways to tell stories to promote and help teaching.

The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi

We are looking for a Product Cinematographer with a strong visual style and relevant experience working in a University environment while producing and filming video projects for Media Productions.

Direct / produce and self-shoot work on location as required. This can be overseeing a small team or as a single operator.

  • Direct studio filming as required.
  • Editing and post-production of projects as required.
  • Pre produce videos, write creative briefs, storyboard and scripts.

About you | He kōrero mōu

Our ideal candidate will have a relevant industry qualification, or tertiary degree in Film and Media Studies Fine Arts or similar, with demonstrable experience in producing teaching and learning video course material for tertiary students.

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake

  • Demonstrable specific technical knowledge and working experience of the following cameras; Sony FS7, Sony A7s, Sony PMW-400
  • Vast experience with video cameras, video editing, production concepts.
  • Experience with filming and live-streaming lectures
  • Strong demonstrable visual flair and affinity with storytelling
