Our Strategic Procurement team are looking for a Procurement Specialist to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. This role will see you deliver benefits and costs savings to the organisation through the development and effective execution of procurement strategies.
As a Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the management of tender and negotiation processes that will satisfy customer requirements while meeting objectives and delivering benefits to the University of Auckland.
Your effective management of contract and supplier performance will ensure compliance and actively drive cost and improve efficiency in the end-to-end supply chain.
You will be required to develop and maintain market and supply intelligence, so that it can be used to maximise opportunities and benefits for the University, along with carrying out analysis and reporting to support procurement initiatives and stakeholder requirements.

The Strategic Procurement Team are a part of the Procurement Group within OneFinance based on the Central City Campus and the Newmarket Campus. We operate with a flexible approach blending working from home and also from Campus. The nature of our work supports a highly collaborative approach within the team and we have a strong customer service ethic. We are a blend of personalities and enjoy working with one another.

Our ideal candidate will hold a tertiary or professional qualification in a related business discipline with a proven track record in Procurement & Supplier Management allied to strong project management capability. You will exhibit excellent analytical skills and be comfortable undertaking detailed analysis of financial data and be proficient in the use of excel. You will thrive in environments where innovative thinking and commercial smarts are highly regarded.
