We are a small group who are passionate about serving our customers well, enabling the processes of procure to pay and supporting informed business decision making. Our overall objective is ensuring that the Ministry obtains the best possible value for money when purchasing goods and services.
About the role
The roles support the Procurement Manager P2P in delivering customer support to all MOE staff in the Purchase to Pay processes. One of the roles is a permanent position and the other is for a fixed term to 30 June 2020 and would be a great opportunity for secondment.
Whilst these roles have no direct reports there is consistent stakeholder engagement with all Business groups across MOE and daily contact with users of Oracle Fusion, who are our key customers. The permanent role will require experience in this area preferably using Oracle Fusion SaaS.
Responsible for supporting the majority of purchasing activity across the Ministry and maximising the benefits of contracts, catalogues and supplier relationships when procuring goods or services. You’ll provide ongoing customer support, sourcing and procuring goods and services on behalf of the Ministry from contracted and non-contracted suppliers, ensuring that all purchases meet specifications, pricing, and quality and are delivered on time and managed through to closure.
You will play a key role in identifying spend areas that can be developed into catalogues and made available to users as a self-service purchasing channel. In addition you will be involved in spend analysis and reporting to monitor internal spend, controls and supplier performance that supports business objectives.
To be successful in this role you will have had recent hands on experience using Oracle Fusion SaaS and in particular the Purchasing and Procurement modules. A strong customer focus is essential, as is being prepared to take ownership until the situation is resolved.
You will also offer:
- superb communication skills (written and verbal)
- knowledge of the nuances for purchasing and payment of goods or services and how the Procurement Officer role adds value to the process and integrity of organisational spend data
- familiarity with the Fusion Payables module while not essential, would be an advantage
- a high level of confidentiality and security of information at all times
- an understanding of the standard terms and conditions in contracts and how they can be used to identify the most appropriate purchase and payment method to purchase the required goods or services
- an awareness of the Government Rules of Sourcing.
If you’d like to bring your skills to a rewarding role within an organisation that’s continuously reaching goals and striving for a better future for New Zealand, we’d love to hear from you.
