We are currently recruiting for Manukau, Auckland Metro and Waitemata Regions .

Probation Officers play a vital role in making communities safer. By effectively managing sentences and orders such as community work, home detention and parole, with the aim of minimising risk of further harm.

The position involves working closely with offenders to make sure they meet the conditions of their sentence or order. You will assess people and their situations to manage risk, set and maintain boundaries and motivate offenders to make positive changes.

Do you have the following skills and attributes:

  • Ability to relate to people from all different backgrounds and cultures
  • Resilience, common sense and maturity
  • A high level of written and oral english communication
  • Computer literate
  • Good at assessing people and situations
  • Proven skills in building strong relationships
