Full-Time Pou Raranga | Community Support

We are expanding our Team and are looking for the right tane to join us in the Pou Raranga (Community Support) position within our psychiatric inpatient forensic hospital. The position covers our five day roster. There are three shift patterns, day, PM and night shift. All staff work across these shifts in rotation.
The Pou Raranga role is an important position, ensuring whaanau receive the best possible care 24/7.
We are looking for someone who is a confident communicator, an open minded listener, and someone who follows through on their word. In addition, high personal standards, ability to maintain confidentiality, while upholding the Kaupapa Health and Safety policy and identifying any potential risk is critical to this role.
Our hospitals kaupapa is to work alongside whaanau supporting them to successfully reorient back into independent living.
The position requires:
- Scheduled checks through out the night
- Accurate recording of observations
- Responsive follow up
Gender appropriateness is a ‘non-negotiable’ of our kaupapa Maori services therefore in this instance we are looking to employ a tane (male) to this role.
You may not have experience in a kaupapa Maori environment but if you have a desire to understand and support Tikanga Maori this may offer you an opportunity to grow within our organisation.
