Full-Time Pou Ahurea (Cultural Director)
Te Rūnanga a Rangitāne o Wairau (Rangitāne) Trust works on behalf of their iwi to promote, develop, maintain, protect and administer all things pertaining to Rangitāne Mana derived from the settlement of their treaty claims for future generations.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pou Ahurea to spearhead the cultural revitalisation of Rangitane o Wairau through leading the implementation of both the Ahurea (Cultural) strand of the organisation’s Strategic Vision, and the Tangata Rau, Reo Kotahi Cultural & Language Revitalisation Strategic Plan.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the cultural renaissance within Rangitāne o Wairau, taking our strategy to the forefront of cultural revitalisation plans. Knowledge of Māori networks is essential, as is an understanding of Māori social and cultural issues, as well as fluency in te reo me ona tikanga.
We are looking for an innovative, dynamic, enthusiastic and passionate person who can lead the rollout of the strategy, utilising iwi, whānau, hapū, marae and community networks, as well as working alongside key stakeholders. We seek a person who can adjust to changing demands and circumstances, and be prepared to undertake an array of tasks to achieve the successful revitalisation of our culture and language.
