The Planning and Information Office has an exciting opportunity for someone to work in a team that looks after reporting, external compliance and data quality. As Planning Analyst, you will be building, curating and maintaining strategic reports, cubes and objects. Working with University staff, internal and external stakeholders to ensure that information prepared are of quality and are used strategically.

About us

The Planning and Information Office is a unit within the Vice-Chancellor’s Office that leads and coordinates strategic and annual planning for the University. It is also responsible for the analyses, collation and publication of information to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.

The opportunity

You’ll be part of a team that is responsible for data governance and reporting. You will be supporting both internal and external reporting requirements. Working with subject matter experts around the University, you will be providing quality information via the University’s reporting portal using data in our data warehouse. You will also support the implantation of our data governance implementation plan.

We are seeking someone who recognizes themselves in the following profile:

  • Strong reporting skills with a clear and analytical mind
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present and paint telling pictures using data clearly, providing insights for different groups of users
  • Attention to detail, logical and good statistical skills
  • Team player, ability to learn, adopt and build relationships within the office and our key stakeholders
  • An affinity with, and understanding of, the unique characteristics of the University environment and the New Zealand tertiary sector would be an added advantage.
