Job Description

Special Education, Wellington has two permanent 0.8 positions for physiotherapists available. One position is based in the Porirua School Focus team, and the other in the Lower Hutt School Focus team.

Physiotherapists in special education work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, with students, their families, educators, schools and community agencies to provide a range of assessments and interventions to meet the physical needs of children and young peoples needs in educational settings.

As part of the Special Education team, you will provide services to children with physical disabilities and those with high and often complex needs, promoting participation, and inclusion in school life.

Relevant experience working in NZ education and Special Education is preferred.

Knowledge of working in a culturally responsive way is required, given our commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.

The successful candidates will have:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • New Zealand Physiotherapy Board registration
  • Be eligible for a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • A current driver’s licence.
