Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is vibrant, achievement-oriented and a rewarding place to work. Ranked in the top 250 of world universities, it is also one of the world’s top 40 young universities and #1 for global research impact in Australasia. We’re poised for the next stage of growth and offer a stimulating teaching and research environment with strong connections to profession, judiciary, government and business.
AUT’s School of Law is New Zealand’s newest and arguably, its most contemporary – blending traditional legal education and focus on legal theory with a strong practical application. AUT law graduates are highly sought after by law firms, community organisations and other employers. Over its first decade it has significantly grown in size and stature. We have over 25 committed and passionate staff who work hard to provide an excellent student experience for our incredibly diverse student community, whilst maintaining a focus on high-quality research that has genuine impact and makes significant ongoing contributions to New Zealand’s policies and legal frameworks. The Law School is part of AUT’s Faculty of Business, Economics and Law. We focus on high quality, innovative teaching with authentic practice-based assessment and staircasing graduates through to postgraduate research. As a School, we are an open, collegial group and support the growth of our people.
We are looking for a Teaching Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Law to join us as a key member of staff. The successful candidate will be expected to teach on the LLB and LLM programmes; from time to time you may also be asked to teach on law courses outside the Law School. As well as teaching, curriculum development, producing lecture materials, devising assessments, examining and marking are also key aspects of the role.
