As a carpentry lecturer you’ll deliver high quality classroom and vocational learning including relevant research and administration within the School. You’ll be involved with house construction, site management and building compliance. Some of your key duties will include:
- Supervision of practical activities.
- Preparations to ensure the timely completion of house build.
- Management of building site.
- Timely procurement of materials.
- Contributing to development and implementation of a coherent portfolio of industry relevant courses.
- Participating in quality and compliance activities i.e. self-evaluation of course performance and analysis of student survey data.
The School provides an environment supportive of teaching, applied research and industry/community engagement within a range of programmes.

You’ll have industry experience and be in possession of or working toward license building practitioner (LBP) for the purposes of compliance with Auckland City Council Building Regulations. To be successful in this position you’ll have a passion for education and be willing to undertake professional development in teaching and learning. You’ll be confident communicating with a wide range of people and have strong industry networks.
