About our group and team
The Data and Information Stewardship group (DIS) is responsible for developing and executing policies, practices, procedures and technology to manage the data and information lifecycle to deliver on the needs of data and information for users of the information. The group champions the management of safe and appropriate use of data and information for better decision making.
The Data Solutions and Warehousing team is responsible for delivering leading Ministry thinking, implementation, operation and maintenance of data warehousing technology in collaboration with experts in the IT group.
About this role
The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for leading the business analysis capability for the team and group. The Lead Business Analyst will work to deliver group initiatives within a business as usual setting. The Lead Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, DIS teams and the wider EDK to design and develop fit for purpose data products and services.
We’re looking for a curious Business Analyst who wants to be part of a team to deliver on our data journey. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be customer-centric, delivery focused and work in an agile way.
You will also offer the following:
- Ideally at least eight years of Business Analysis experience including requirements gathering, process mapping and design, and change management
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders
- Experience working in a data warehouse environment
- Experience in data analysis
- Demonstrated project management skills
- The ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga
- Proven experience in leading and motivating teams to successfully deliver projects, of diverse complexity and scale
