The Census Te Ao Māori team is looking for a Senior Design Analyst to support the Iwi-Led Data Analytics & Collections initiative that will be delivered by Te Kāhui Raraunga Trust (Data Iwi Leaders Group). This is a significant initiative for Stats NZ in developing its relationship with iwi Māori, and this provides an opportunity for the lucky candidate to contribute at the ‘front-end’ of an exciting development.
Reporting to the Kaiwhakahaere/Manager – Te Ao Māori (Iwi-Led Data Analytics & Collections) you’ll assist the Census Branch to work with and for Māori by enabling iwi Māori to deliver a collections operation as a part of the 2023 Census and build iwi Māori data analytical capability.
As a Senior Design Analyst you’ll be responsible for contributing your particular expertise to aspects of co-design with iwi; critically analysing and supporting the provision of sound advice on a wide range of topics to support iwi Māori capability building; ensuring Census programme behaviour reflects a genuine commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori partnerships, participation and responsiveness; and providing timely strategic, analytical and operational advice to teams within the Census Branch as it relates to the Iwi-Led Data Analytics & Collections initiative. This is a fixed term opportunity until September 2023.

Starting salary: $89,177 – $104,914 negotiable
