Mō te tūnga | The role

This is a fixed term Design Analyst role based in our Wellington office. You will report to the Kaiwhakahaere | Manager – Tatauranga umanga Māori.

Within this role you will be able to have significant impact by:

  • Developing and implementing robust solutions for our output systems and processes.
  • Positively improving our measurement of Māori businesses to better reflect the changing NZ environment.
  • Assessing new and additional data sources to add to our suite of data inputs.
  • Working across the organisation and with external stakeholders to ensure we use the most effective methods, sources and processes.

Starting salary: $76,571-84,679 negotiable

Mōu | About you

  • A passion for economic data and data about and for Māori.
  • Strong coding skills (R, SAS and bespoke system experience would be particularly beneficial) to an intermediate or advanced level.
  • Experience resolving conceptually and technically challenging problems.
  • An eye for opportunities and a drive to see changes implemented.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence a range of people and produce plain English documentation.
  • Knowledge/familiarity or a commitment to learning/understanding Te Ao Māori, in order to understand and contribute meaningful work and outcomes for Māori businesses and communities.
