KAITAKAWAENGA
(MĀORI LIAISON)
Cranford Hospice is a Specialist Palliative Care service located in Hastings, which serves the wider Hawke’s Bay region. We have an 8 bed inpatient unit as well as a community based care service. We are seeking a Kaitakawaenga to join our Family Support Team. Key responsibilities include:
- Working with the Cranford Hospice medical, nursing, and family support teams to provide specialist palliative care,and support for turoro and their whānau.
- Improve access to palliative care for Māori and Pacific Island patients and whānau
- Establish and maintain relationships so as best to meet the needs of Māori
- Work alongside our Cultural Advisor to raise awareness and promote palliative care services to the Māori community

Me whakaatu mai te kaitono i tōna māramatanga ki te reo Māori me ngā tikanga.
Kia taea tonu e te kaitono te mahi tahi i waenganui i ngā roopu maha, ā, kua whanake tōna whakawhanaungatanga ki ngā hapori o te rohe.
The preferred applicant will have a relevant health / social services qualification or be working towards a certificate in Hauora.
This role is 0.7FTE and days and hours of work are flexible.
