Head of School – Undergraduate Studies is a strategic position responsible for the overall leadership and performance of this unique school. This role has everything – strategy, leadership of staff, management of school resources, supporting quality teaching and learning, programme management and recruitment, and research development; all within a context of advancing āhuatanga and tikanga Māori.
The successful candidate will be an authentic values-based leader with demonstrated success in managing high performing teams and the delivery of quality programmes and experiences for students. You will be someone who thrives in an environment of complexity with the proven ability to effectively manage relationships across a multi-layered organisation. You will also understand the importance of Wānanga education within the wider tertiary landscape, and the role such organisations play in achieving positive educational outcomes for the communities they serve.
While a PhD is desirable, a minimum of a Master’s in a relevant field is acceptable. So bring your experience in senior management in the tertiary sector to us, and help shape the future direction, development and success of our organisation.
We seek candidates who are a person of a high character, who will have the courage to deal with issues as they arise and address them, backed up with sound decision-making and highly tuned, people management skill. You will oversee the development and implementation of programme development plans, including risk and review, and you will draw knowledge from a comparable environment where they have demonstrated expertise and strong leadership.
