What Ever It Takes www.whateverittakes.co.nz is a totally unique and innovative kaupapa Māori organisation that supports our clients and whānau affected by serious injury through a values driven practise model. Valuing the dignity and mana of all people is critical to success. This service has derived from personal experiences and applies a culturally focussed approach.
After many years in the sector, this means knowing what works and what doesn’t, working in partnership with whānau and their communities, while understanding how to apply it for the long term.
Working alongside ACC www.acc.co.nz we’re launching a national program for seriously injured clients who identify with a Whānau Ora approach.
Whānau Ora is a collective approach, based on values and principles that allow whānau to be supported in the practice of tikanga. It brings together all the elements that allow whānau to deal with the daily challenges that come with living with an acquired disability or serious injury.
In addition to the services that are already provided, clients and their whānau will have access to three additional services:
- Whānau Ora – Mauri Ihu: Whakawhānaungatanga (relationships and collaboration),Hui (information gathering),Waka (navigation)
- Whakapapa – Community connectedness: developing and engaging with a wider network for the client and being involved in community living
- Kotahitanga – Rehabilitation support: ensuring continuity towards independence by accessing the right services at the right times with the right providers
We have multiple positions, right across the country (Auckland, BOP, Northland, Waikato, Hawkes Bay and Wellington).

Key accountabilities to include; organising, coordinating and managing the operation of the home-based rehabilitation and support programs. Ensuring services are compatible with the legislation. Management of staff and contractors, recruitment, training, rostering, reporting and ensuring client service plans are developed and adhered to.
Demonstrated management skills within a clinical setting and extensive knowledge of health sector are essential.

Key duties to include; development and review of clinical risk management protocols, case management, record keeping, daily recordings, medication management, skin integrity, spinal cord impairment as well as, liaison with other health practitioners.
Requiring a National Certificate in Heath, Disability and aged, nursing experience and a sound working knowledge of the Health and Disability Sector.
- Kaitiaki Role
The Kaitiaki role is unique in the sense that the person we are seeking must have an ability to resonate with whānau with disabilities as well as resonating with the support team. It is imperative that you have strong communication skills, relationship management skills, administrative and management skills as well as being highly motivated and innovative. This role will focus on creating pathways for whānau to navigate their way through acquired injury.

Critical to your position is the ability to appoint suitable rehabilitation and support staff pertinent to each individual client; team management, reporting and rostering. Ensuring client care plan is adhered to, updated and current. Management experience and health/disability sector skills are perquisite to application.
This programme will be a first and unique in terms of our approach to building a team and working alongside all parties involved to provide clients and their whanau with the skills and support to live their lives.
