Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
About the role
You will provide support for payroll-related governance, will assist with the longer-term reset of the schools’ payroll governance function, and other duties as required. Working with the Manager – Strategy in the Payroll team and with the Head of Education Infrastructure Service’s office, you will ensure key deadlines are met for governance activities and that this supports decision-making. Providing the Secretariat function at high level Governance Boards you will have a high profile with senior management within the Ministry.
You will have proven relevant experience providing administrative/coordination support in a board, project or programme environment that involved responsibility for coordinating meetings, including scheduling, taking accurate minutes, preparing agendas, follow-up on action points etc.
You will also offer the following:
- The ability to work at pace, manage competing priorities and work to deadlines effectively
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite
- A committed and tenacious approach to your work
- The ability to make sound decisions within short timeframes, adapt to new circumstances and use your initiative
