The opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic individual with strong organisational skills to join the SMS core laboratory operations group, performing the duties of Floor Laboratory Manager for research floors on our Grafton campus.

This role will focus on supporting a diverse range of biomedical research activities over multiple floors which are occupied by several research groups.

  • The ideal candidate will have previous laboratory management experience, and will demonstrate an excellent standard of oral and written communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative and flexibility are key aspects to being successful in this role.
  • A good working knowledge of University of Auckland policy and procedures, including Health, Safety and Wellbeing and biological risk management, is a distinct advantage.

This position will include the role of PC3 facility manager, and the successful candidate must be willing to become an expert in PC3 operations as part of their portfolio.

This is a full time, permanent position, available at level 5 on the professional scale.
