Job Description

Greenpeace New Zealand Aotearoa is looking for a Finance Manager to lead and manage the financial accounting functions of the organisation. The Finance Manager has a key role in providing accurate and strategic financial advice to the Senior Management Team, and Greenpeace New Zealand Board.

The Finance Manager manages the Finance & Admin assistant and is responsible for all accounting, reporting, payroll, accounts receivable processes and all internal and external compliance requirements.

It is a full time position and the candidate must be based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Your main duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Working with Senior Management to prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensuring compliance with Greenpeace (local and international) procedures and policies, accounting standards, statutory obligations, and auditing requirements.
  • Managing and overseeing all payroll functions
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts and general ledgers
  • Direct management of the Finance & Admin assistant

What we are looking for:

  • Commitment to Greenpeace aims and goals
  • Professional accounting qualification preferred
  • At least 5 years’ relevant post qualification working experience with significant financial analysis and reporting experience
  • Experience using financial software, Sun system would be an advantage
  • Experience using Microsoft office and Google systems, in particular Excel and Google sheets
  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Interest in and knowledge of digitalisation of finance processes
  • Commitment to Greenpeace aims and goals
  • Experience in working with multicultural environment and teams and across borders would be useful
