Te Ara Kaupare Youth Forensic Service

If you have a strong interest in working with youth joining the Ngaa Ringa Awhina Youth Forensic Services may be the change you are looking for. Key responsibilities are to fulfil generic and discipline-specific specialist mental health assessment and potential treatment in relation to the bio-psychosocial well-being of whaanau with an identified psychiatric illness via a Court Liaison process of referral.
You will have a professional approach and work collaboratively with other personnel to ensure the best possible support is provided for whaanau. You will exhibit high personal and proficient standards in accordance with professional best practice, and the role will suit confident communicators who can accurately record their work in a clinical management system.   The role is predominantly based in the community but there is opportunity to expand your knowledge in a sub-acute in-patient  setting . We are a kaupapa Maaori service that believes having a diverse work force allows us to support individuals and their whaanau. The ability to speak Te Reo is not a prerequisite and you may not have experience in a kaupapa Maori environment previously but if you have a desire to understand and support Tikanga Maori this may offer you an opportunity to grow and be nurtured within a Kaupapa  Maaori environment.

We acknowledge that each person is an individual and brings unique skills and experience with them to the kaupapa and offer opportunities for professional growth and development. The kaupapa is a supportive environment that ensures no one works in isolation and a collaborative approach is expected.
