Equity and Inclusion Partner – up to 20 hours per week
Are you committed to creating an environment where diversity flourishes and people can bring their whole self to work?
At Unitec, we see the value in diversity. Our aim is to create an organisational culture where people feel engaged, respected, and connected; where the richness of ideas, backgrounds and perspectives are drawn out and acted upon to achieve the best possible outcomes and to create an organisational culture that fosters a deep sense of inclusion.
As Equity and Inclusion Partner you’ll be a key part of our Learning and Development Team. You will lead and partner across the organisation on initiatives to create an inclusive environment and foster the building of an organisational culture that is free from bullying, harassment, discrimination and other forms of poor behaviour.
This is a part-time position working up to 20 hours per week. We are open to discussing the days and times of work.
It’s an exciting time to join Unitec.
We have considerably redeveloped our Mt. Albert Campus and have been refurbishing our Waitakere campus to support flexible, collaborative, technology-enabled learning and teaching spaces.
Our central hub offers open environments merging with collaborative areas, library spaces and a range of eateries.
To be successful in the position of Equity and Inclusion Partner you will have a proven track record in collaborating with, and connecting, a wide range of stakeholders from diverse racial, cultural and social backgrounds to shift organisational culture and build capability.
We are looking for you to demonstrate evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive and equitable workplaces/environments and a background in being effective for our priority groups – Māori, Pacific and under-25. You will have an understanding of Tikanga Māori, Kaupapa Māori and demonstrate a commitment to the principles of Te Noho Kotahitanga.
You will have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in the Equity and Inclusion space and have knowledge of current research and practice in Equity and Inclusion.
Combined with the above you will also possess excellent communication skills; including experience in facilitating workshops and small groups. You’ll be adept at influencing, coaching and supporting.
If you have the networks, the knowledge, the passion and desire to support Unitec in building an inclusive organisational culture, we would very much like to hear from you.
In exchange for your hard work, you will receive a competitive salary and benefits, discounted gym and an on-site child care facility, free parking, as well as progressive opportunities to develop your career.
