We have a great opportunity for the right person to join our Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast Team at the Ministry of Education.
We will give you the opportunity to work directly with senior leaders, boards of trustees and Communities of Learning to achieve successful educational outcomes for all students, with a particular focus on realising the potential of Māori students and Pasifika students. You must be able to influence others with knowledge, skills and experience in improving student engagement and achievement.
We are looking for a person who has:
- a good understanding of the New Zealand education system and of legislation relevant to education
- experience, preferably at a leadership level, in Primary or Secondary education, Māori medium, or school governance
- relationship and stakeholder management experience
- the ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- the ability to partner with others to support and implement change initiatives
- a relevant tertiary qualification
- The ability to speak Te Reo and experience working with Māori medium or bi-lingual settings would be advantageous.
