Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Content Producer to join us in our Central Auckland campus. The purpose of this role is to plan and produce compelling content to engage international students in key markets. This includes bringing our international stories to life using a range of innovative formats, ensuring content is on-brand and optimised for the channel, the audience and search engines.

A key focus in this role is to expand the University of Auckland’s presence internationally by producing, curating, repurposing, and evaluating student-facing content for a range of digital and social media platforms.

Reporting to the International Demand Generation Manager, you will play an important role in the development of our digital footprint across key international markets for New Zealand’s leading education brand. Due to the international nature of this role, some evening and weekend work may be required. Your key areas of focus in this role will be:

Planning:

  • Working closely with the International Demand Generation Manager, create a content strategy to support international marketing and recruitment goals.
  • Proactively monitor and review the international marketing plan
  • Develop, manage, and optimise the international marketing social media plan to improve engagement in key international markets.

Content Production:

  • Create, edit, repurpose, curate, and share quality international student-facing content (text, video, images, and audio) that builds meaningful connections and encourages audience engagement.
  • Develop and manage International Office web content.
  • Create and optimise landing pages to support international marketing campaigns.
  • Capture international student reviews, testimonials, and recommendations for use on partner and external websites.

Optimisation and Performance Reporting

  • Use data, insights, and user research to understand student needs and validate content decisions.
  • Responsible for data-driven results to ensure all digital content and journeys are optimised for our targeted audiences.
  • Closely monitor the performance of international marketing digital content using tools like Google Analytics and Facebook Insights, and regularly conduct audits/reviews, to understand impact, continuously improve and ensure relevance for optimisation or removal of content.

He kōrero mōu | About you

You will thrive in this role if you excel at creating compelling and engaging content across multiple digital channels and for international audiences. As a digital content optimiser, you are familiar with digital media channels and analysis tools and of course you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills ideally across multiple languages relating to our core markets. Given the pace of this role and our focus on working together you will need to have strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

Essential Experience:

  • 4-6 years’ experience developing and producing effective digital content and imagery that can be used in social, website and email communications.
  • Managing, reviewing, and optimising web content.
  • Basic design skills.
  • Experience following a style guide including brand and web.
  • Video production and editing experience.
  • Experience in measuring, analysing, and reporting content performance.

Preferred Experience:

  • You will be Multilingual ideally with Mandarin at a native level, this is preferred but not essential
  • Experience in international marketing/communications in the tertiary education sector.
  • Created and implemented international content strategy across digital channels.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g. Oracle Eloqua).
  • Proven experience in developing social media content to drive customer engagement and sales.
