Fixed-term Content Writer and Co-ordinator (one year, fixed-term)
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Alumni Relations and Development (ARD) team to contribute to the fundraising and alumni engagement goals of the University of Auckland Campaign For All Our Futures.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will be responsible for writing and producing compelling material to engage with the University’s alumni and donors, as well as our internal audiences. You will be working across a variety of platforms, producing print, online and multi-media content. Journalistic style writing coupled with accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as well as strong organisational skills and a flexible and proactive approach.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Sourcing news and story ideas
- Conducting interviews with academics, donors, student scholarship recipients and alumni
- Writing compelling stories which showcase the impact of philanthropy and the achievements of our alumni
- Sourcing/producing photos and videos
- Coordinating and producing ARD publications and reports
- Supporting ARD events by creating engaging content for invitations, programmes and other promotional material
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Exceptional written communications skills and a creative flair, with experience in journalism, communications, public relations or similar background.
- A relevant degree or qualification
- At least 2-3 years in a similar role
