We have five specialised Clinics that provide services in relation to Optometry, Hearing and Tinnitus, Nutrition and Dietetics, Exercise and Rehabilitation and Speech-Language Therapy
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Clinics Practice Manager to provide operational management of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences University Clinics and contribute to the development of a cohesive approach to the clinical service delivery of holistic and integrated teaching and research.

About the team | Mō tō mātou rōpū
Our Clinics are located within Grafton and Newmarket, offering excellent research-informed clinical treatment for our diverse client base. As teaching clinics, the main aim is to provide an excellent learning and teaching experience essential for our health professional students to gain their required clinical exposure while also providing high-quality care to our patients.
Our clinical support team is comprised of 5 competent and confident coordinators and receptionists who have a passion for what they do and the expertise to execute it. We collectively share the aspiration to keep looking for a smarter and more effective approach and work together to accomplish this. This role will lead the strategic direction for the University of Auckland Clinics.
About you | He kōrero mōu
You will come to us with prior experience in the medical administration field, where you understanding of our responsibilities under The Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers’ Rights, with a continuous improvement mindset of how to best deliver care through effective patient management systems and effective systems. You will have the responsibility of developing and maintaining SOPs to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of our clinics.
You will also work with our budding clinicians in mind, ensuring that we have a pipeline of patients through effective recruitment plans by working effectively with our Faculty marketing team.
In conjunction with this, to support the strategic growth and streamlining of our service, you will have had exposure to a commercial environment that required you to work with budget development, reporting and forecasting, reconciliations and strategic planning for service delivery.
Finally, your team will look to you for support, including general operational day to day support, complaint management or by looking to lead development and delivery of key projects, campaigns, and initiatives focused on new and improved service delivery to students and the clinics.

Our next Clinics Practice Manager will have:
- Proven experience leading effective customer focussed teams.
- Experience in working in a multidisciplinary health setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a range of staff at all levels within a complex organisation
- Understanding or experience of financial systems and overseeing accounts, ideally in a primary health care setting
- Made a significant contribution to the development of strategic annual plans and reports and understand how to operationalise these
