Job Description

Chief Maori Advisor to the Children’s Commissioner – Fixed term until 30 June 2020

The Office of the Children’s Commissioner has an opportunity for you to contribute to and support the office and the Children’s Commissioner to advocate for improved outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi Maori.

We are looking for someone to take the lead on developing internal capacity and capability, as well as scoping an Assistant Maori Children’s Commissioner position. You will need to work closely with our Maori staff caucus “Te Roopu”, and across our wider office team.

You should have experience of working successfully to improve outcomes for tamariki Maori. You will understand the machinery of government, including in relation to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

This position reports to the Children’s Commissioner, and is a fixed-term position till 30 June 2020 based in Wellington. Full-time preferred, but open to part-time for the right person, by negotiation.
